What Are Cookies?

This Site's own code stores nothing in your browser. It has no login, no account and no saved settings, and it writes no cookies and no local storage of its own. Everything described below is set by Google's advertising and analytics scripts or by our hosting provider.

  • Strictly necessary: core site functions and security features, set by our hosting provider rather than by us.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 sets cookies to tell one visit from another and count how often a page is read.
  • Advertising: support ad delivery and measurement, and (where enabled and allowed) ad personalization.

Google AdSense Cookies and Identifiers

We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google and other advertising partners may use cookies/identifiers to serve and render ads, limit frequency, measure ad effectiveness, and help protect against fraud. Depending on settings and, where required, your consent, ads may be personalized.

User Controls

If Google ads are served, you may be able to control ad personalization in Google's ad settings. You can also control cookies in your browser settings.

The Site sets Google's consent defaults by region before any Google script runs. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics storage, ad storage, ad user data and ad personalization all default to denied and stay denied unless a consent tool grants them. Everywhere else they default to granted.

We do not run a cookie banner of our own, and there is no preferences link in this Site's own code. Where a consent message appears it comes from Google's privacy and messaging tools, configured in the AdSense account. Clearing cookies in your browser resets whatever choice was recorded.

How to Control Cookies

  • Browser settings: delete existing cookies and block future cookies.
  • Google's ad settings: manage ad personalization in your Google account, which applies across sites that serve Google ads rather than only this one.
